AACC’s Correctional and Continuing Education department offers contract training with Job Corps, the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS), Maryland Department of Juvenile Services, and Ordnance Road Correctional Center.

Our mission is to provide high-quality, accelerated career training that leads to employment in middle-skilled jobs, will pay a living wage and will act as an entry point to self-sufficiency.

A variety of affordable, year-or-less job training programs prepare students for employment in positions with good growth potential. With a focus on students entering the workforce or changing careers, all training programs have a clear career pathway and prepare students via hands-on training aligning with industry standards.

Continuing Education

Dietary Aide

Train to become a dietary aide. A dietary aide is the person primarily responsible for preparing a healthy meal for a resident and being mindful of dietary restrictions, allergies and special concerns.

Through this training you will:

  • Learn basic safety training needs of general culinary industry.
  • Learn basic food service sanitation, kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Learn basic therapeutic diets and food preparation, food portion, and waste control.
  • Learn soft skills for employment.

Forest Conservation

Prepare for Maryland's Forest Conservation Qualified Professional license with AACC's state-approved training. Study the development of site maps, Maryland plants and forest types, and reforestation plans that integrate forest conservation values into new development.

Human Resource Management

AACC has partnered with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) to offer this nationally recognized program. Students who complete the program demonstrate to employers that they have acquired a valuable body of knowledge. This course utilizes the SHRM Learning System, and is taught by highly credentialed, experienced instructors.

Professional Animal Worker

Do you enjoy working with animals? The professional animal worker course prepares students to assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in caring for animals in clinics and practices nationwide.

In this training you will:
