Empty Bowls
Join AACC service-learning students, staff and faculty as we come together to raise funds for those impacted by hunger in our community.
Empty Bowls is a grassroots project that raises money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in communities. Buy soup and a roll for a $10 donation and select a retail bowl to keep. Instructional Specialist Michael Levins' Cooking Techniques 1 (HRM-123) service-learning students will prepare the meals. Donations for this event will benefit AACC HelpLink.
Service-learning combines academic studies with community volunteer service, enhancing student learning through hands-on experiences that meet community needs and include faculty-guided reflection. For information about Empty Bowls or service-learning, email Trésa Ballard at tmballard1@aacc.edu.
