One of only five college or university programs in Maryland to be approved by the American Bar Association, AACC's Paralegal program will prepare you to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation. You’ll be taught by judges, practicing attorneys and experts in the field, with an emphasis on practical applications. And with the ability to enroll full- or part-time and courses offered online as well as in day, evening and weekend formats, you can get ahead on your terms.

Note: Paralegals may not provide legal services to the public except as permitted by law. Students must take at least nine semester credits or the equivalent of legal specialty courses through synchronous instruction.
AACC offers the following Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. The state of Maryland refers to the A.A.S. as a career degree, because it's intended to provide you with skills to enter the workforce. In some cases, AACC has entered into transfer agreements that allow this degree to transfer to select colleges. A list of active agreements may be found under Transfer Services on this website.
This American Bar Association-approved program will prepare you for employment in the paralegal field or will help meet the requirements for promotion and/or additional career responsibility. Employment projections suggest that the paralegal field will be one of the fastest growing careers during the next several years.
This certificate, available only to students who have completed an associate or bachelor’s degree, prepares students to advance in their careers.
This is an American Bar Association-approved certificate program. Students receive basic information to prepare them for employment in the paralegal field or to meet the requirements for promotion and additional career responsibility.

After earning your A.A.S. degree, you may decided you want to transfer to complete a four-year degree. We have partnerships and transfer agreements in place with many colleges and universities so you can easily transfer when you're ready. Transfer agreements (or “articulation agreements,” as they’re officially called) are formal arrangements between institutions that allow certain credits to transfer seamlessly from one school to the other.
