With the support of Anne Arundel County industry partners, AACC is excited to offer pre-apprenticeship courses in several areas of study.
You will learn from an industry professional through a combination of classroom instruction, online coursework and hands-on lab activities. Along with gaining valuable industry knowledge, you will participate in industry standard safety training certifications such as OSHA-30 and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED.

The Pre-apprenticeship Electrical program is designed to prepare you to enter and succeed in a registered Electrical Apprenticeship program.

Program Status: At this time, the Pre-apprenticeship Plumbing program is not scheduled. Individuals interested in plumbing careers are encouraged to explore our Mechanical Technology program, which introduces students to plumbing systems, heating, ventilation and air conditions (HVAC), which will equip you with the skills needed to secure entry level employment in HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting or building maintenance, and can lead to a registered HVAC or plumbing apprenticeship with our industry partner Associated Builders and Contractors of Chesapeake.

Students taking noncredit classes don't need to apply for admission to AACC. Just check out our course search, choose a program or course that interests you, register and make your payment. Registration for summer and fall courses is open! Please check course availability prior to registration.
If you have previously taken classes at AACC, you must log in using your AACC account. New students will be able to create a temporary account in the checkout process.

Upon registering for your course, regularly check your MyAACC account and AACC email for class and general updates from the college. Due to FERPA regulations, all official college communications must be sent to your AACC student email. This includes class cancellation and waitlist notifications. In carpentry, formwork is the temporary structure that shapes wet concrete as it cures. It determines the final quality of the concrete but is never meant to stay in place. Anne Arundel Community College’s carpentry pre‑apprenticeship program served a similar purpose for Liam Keener, giving him the structure and support to shape his career.
